Liver Care Panel
Liver enzymes, bile acids and proteins together, for dogs and cats with liver worries.
5 tests in one package · Sample: Serum + whole blood (EDTA)
The Liver Care Panel combines the LFT, GGT, bile acids, albumin and a CBC. Enzymes show whether liver cells are being damaged, while bile acids and albumin show how well the liver is working. A CBC adds a look at anaemia and infection. A registered veterinarian reads the results together with the animal's signs and history.
Tests inside this package
-
A Liver Function Test (LFT) is a group of blood tests that can show how well the liver is working and whether it is under strain. It is done on serum from dogs, cats, cows and buffaloes.
BiochemistrySample: Serum (plain)Single test: ₹700
-
GGTP (also called GGT) is an enzyme found mainly in the liver and bile ducts. Raised levels may point to bile duct disease or liver damage.
BiochemistrySample: Serum (plain)Single test: ₹550
-
Bile acids (fasting & post-meal)
A bile acids test measures bile acids in two blood samples, taken after a fast and about two hours after a meal, to see how well the liver clears them. It can help your vet look for liver problems and shunts, blood vessels that bypass the liver, in dogs and cats.
BiochemistrySample: Serum (plain)
-
Serum albumin is the main blood protein made by the liver. Low levels can point to liver disease, or to protein loss through the kidneys or gut.
BiochemistrySample: Serum (plain)Single test: ₹180
-
A CBC counts the red cells, white cells and platelets in a blood sample and can help show anaemia (low red cells), infection or inflammation (the body's reaction to injury). It suits dogs, cats, cows and buffaloes.
HaematologySample: Whole blood (EDTA)Single test: ₹400

Bile Acids Test: Looking for Liver Shunts in Young Pets
A bile acids test checks how well the liver clears bile acids from the blood, using one sample before a meal and one after. In young pets with poor growth or odd behaviour, it can help show if the liver is not getting its full share of blood.
