Mastitis Control Pack

Find udder infection early - before milk yield and quality drop.

2 tests in one package

The Mastitis Control Pack tests milk from each udder quarter with the California Mastitis Test (CMT) and a somatic cell count, and adds a CBC on blood. The milk tests can help find udder infection early, even when the milk looks normal, and the CBC may show how the animal's body is reacting and whether there is anaemia. Together they help your vet decide what to do for the animal.

Tests inside this package

  • Mastitis Test (CMT) & Somatic Cell Count

The mastitis test checks fresh milk from each udder quarter with the CMT and a somatic cell count. A high result may indicate udder infection or inflammation, even when the milk looks normal.

Cow & Buffalo (Livestock) TestsSample: Fresh milk, quarter-wise

  • CBC

A CBC counts the red cells, white cells and platelets in a blood sample and can help show anaemia (low red cells), infection or inflammation (the body's reaction to injury). It suits dogs, cats, cows and buffaloes.

HaematologySample: Whole blood (EDTA)Single test: ₹400

Who is this package for?

  • Cows and buffaloes with clots, flakes or watery milk
  • Animals with a hot, swollen or painful udder, or fever
  • Herds where mastitis keeps coming back
  • Animals with a sudden fall in milk yield

Benefits

  • Tests each quarter on its own to show which part of the udder is affected
  • Can find hidden mastitis before the milk looks abnormal
  • CBC checks the blood for signs of infection and anaemia
  • Gives your vet facts to decide the next step
  • Can help protect milk yield and milk quality

How often? It is usually done when signs of mastitis appear, or at regular herd checks, and repeated as advised by your vet.

Questions about this package

What does the Mastitis Control Pack include?
It includes the Mastitis Test (CMT) and somatic cell count on milk, and a CBC on blood. It needs fresh milk from each quarter and a blood sample from the animal. Free sample collection is available anywhere in Bhopal.
Why is a CBC added to the milk tests?
The milk tests look at the udder. The CBC looks at the animal's blood and may show how the body is reacting to infection, or whether there is anaemia. It does not diagnose mastitis by itself. Your vet reads both results together.
Will the pack tell me which germ is causing mastitis?
No. The CMT and cell count show that the udder may be inflamed, but they do not name the germ. If your vet wants to know the germ, they may advise a culture test or other tests.

Packages support your veterinarian’s decisions; they do not replace an examination. A registered veterinarian should read the results together with your animal’s signs and history.
