Online Lab Reports: My Reports and WhatsApp, How It Works

Short answer

Your animal's lab report reaches you on WhatsApp and email, and it is also kept in My Reports on the website once you sign in. The lab may check who you are before it releases a report, and you can share it with your vet.

Your animal's lab report reaches you on WhatsApp and email, and it is also kept in My Reports on the website once you sign in. The lab may check who you are before it releases a report, because a report belongs to the owner and the vet. You can share it with your vet at any time.

Where will you find your report?

There are three places, and you can use whichever suits you.

  • WhatsApp: the lab sends the report or a link to the number you gave when you booked.
  • Email: the same report goes to the address on your booking.
  • My Reports: on the website, sign in and open My Reports to see every report for your animals, with the date and the tests listed. You can open or download the file from there.

If you booked as a guest, create an account with the same email address, and your reports will appear under it. The site asks you to confirm your email by clicking a link, which keeps other people from seeing your reports.

Why does the lab check who you are?

A report holds details about your animal and about you, so it should reach only the right people. Before releasing a report, the lab may confirm that the person asking is the owner, the vet or someone the owner has allowed. This is the same care that the Privacy Policy describes. It can feel like a small delay, but it protects your information. If a report reaches the wrong person, tell the lab straight away.

How can you share a report with your vet?

Forward the WhatsApp message or email, or download the file from My Reports and send it. A vet who sees your animal in person usually wants to read the whole report, not a photograph of one line. Ask the vet to keep it in the animal's record. You can also name your vet when you book, so that the lab knows who may receive it with your permission.

What is in a report?

A report shows the animal's details, the date and type of sample, each test with its result, unit and reference range, flags for results outside the range, and notes. It may also say which laboratory did a test, and whether a result is preliminary or final. A Complete Blood Count (CBC) shows blood cell counts and a Urine Routine shows what was found in urine, each in its own section. A registered veterinarian reads the report with your animal's signs and history.

What if something on the report is wrong?

Tell the lab quickly, quoting the report number. The lab can check the details, ask the reporting laboratory if needed, and issue a corrected report with a clear status that replaces the earlier one. Older versions may be kept in the lab's records so that changes can be traced. A genuine abnormal result will not be removed to make a report look better.

How should you keep your reports?

Keep each report, because a trend across several reports tells more than one alone. My Reports stores them in date order, and it is worth saving a copy of important ones on your phone. When you move to a new vet or a new city, share the whole set. Do not post reports on public pages or groups, because they contain personal details.

You can follow a booking with its reference from the Track page, and the My Bookings page lists past and pending bookings. When the report is ready, it appears in My Reports and the lab sends it to you. If you have not heard after the time you were given, call or WhatsApp the lab.

If a result looks strange, Why a Lab May Ask for a Fresh Sample explains one common reason. To understand the numbers, read Reference Ranges: Why Your Pet's Report Shows a Range.
